About the role:

We are looking for a TV journalist to join our regional 10 News Local team in Tasmania! This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment producing content for regional television around Australia. You’ll use your initiative and skills to produce news that's relevant to viewers in multiple regional markets and be confident in your writing and presenting abilities.

Please note: This role will be required to cover sensitive and potentially emotionally challenging news events from a people, product, and rostering perspective.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Generate story ideas and identify news angles to produce and present original content for broadcast platforms.
  • Work in teams unsupervised and under pressure to meet daily deadlines.
  • Respond to breaking news events to deliver deadline-driven content.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with key contacts and sources.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in journalism with strong news judgement.
  • Strong, accurate story telling skills – making the complex easy to understand.
  • Good knowledge or the ability to quickly adapt to news production and non-linear editing systems (we use iNEWS).
